When American aviators in World War I used the zip to close their uniforms, it spread around the world, as well as when it was introduced into world high fashion by a Parisian fashion designer, who began using it in her French salon creations.
The English word “ZIPPER” is where the name “zipper” comes from. The name became popular in 1923 after an employee of the American company B. F. Goodrich gave them the name.
The French word “fermeture clair” gave the name to the common “zipper”. “Zipper” is an expression used in Portugal and Brazil. This expression has been used for a long time, because “zipper” has been a world-renowned brand for many years.
