PME Leader is a status awarded in Portugal by IAPMEI (Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation) to small and medium-sized companies that stand out for their economic and financial performance, as well as their risk profile.
Companies that obtain the PME Líder status enjoy several advantages, such as access to better financing conditions, specialized technical support, facilitation in the relationship with the Public Administration and public recognition of their solidity and performance.
This status is awarded annually to companies that present a good economic performance, comply with fiscal and tax obligations and have a regularized situation with Social Security.
Thus, created by IAPMEI, together with Tourism of Portugal, Banking and Mutual Guarantee Societies, PMEs with superior performance and recognized public satisfaction, as well as profitable business strategies, are recognized as PME Líder
